Alicia Jo sat alone. She hadn't really met anyone so far, and she felt more alone then ever. The only person she had talked to was her mentor, and even then, she felt like a burden to her. She hadn't even felt like playing anything, she was so upset.
J just sat there, thinking about her previous life. She wasn't at all thrilled to become marked. She had had a semi-good life before this. The only thing she really enjoyed was the fact the she got to change her name.
Hopefully, she wouldn't spend the next four years or so alone. Or die before I become an adult vampyre she thought to herself. She looked around the room, seeing a few students and wondered if she should go up and talk to some of them.

Carnelian had made a resolution. Speak to at least two new people a day until you've made some friends. And he would keep to it. Honestly.
So he'd ended up in the common room, biting his bottom lip as his finger twitched slightly. Then again, he was doing eeny meeny in his head, and hoping it wouldn't land on somebody too worrying.
Once he'd settled on a random girl he stepped forwards, sitting next to her. "Um, hello there. I'm Carnelian Sealbhach, and I'm a third former. And you? he asked, as politely as he could, with a slight smile.

AJ jumped slightly when Carnelian spoke to her. She had been in a bit of a daze, but was glad someone finally spoke to her. Yes, I'm a Third Former too. I just arrived a few hours ago, though. Is everything always so quiet here? she asked.
It was strange that a whole school full of students wouldn't be more busy and loud. It was nice, but kind-of eerie. You would think it would be louder or at least less neat.
Even the time of day (or rather, night) added to the eeriness and quietness of the school.

With a slight sigh of relief, Carnelian let himself relax ever so slightly. The reply he got was quite interesting (did she thing he'd been here for very long?) and he took a second to think before answering.
"Well I've only been here for a couple of days, but accoridng to what I've seen it is rather quiet around here. Then again, it depends on where you go. The canteen is very noisy, I find." He replied, looking around. Maybe it was because it was night, and people were used to having to hush when the sun had gone down, but the house of night was a much more peaceful place.
If you ignored the imminent risk of death, of course. Realising something about the girl next to him, he smiled slightly. "You didn't say your name." He added lightly.

Oh! How rude of me! I'm AJ, or Alicia Jo Todd. But I prefer AJ. It just sounds cooler, in my opinion. And I'm glad I'm not the only newbie here. I was beginning to think I'd never make any friends. AJ said.
She glanced at the clock to see it was 5 AM. Strange to be up and thinking about bed at this hour... she thought to herself. She noticed the moon was nearly full tonight. It had given off enough light for her to see on her way around. The moon was pretty tonight. she thought out-loud.

"I think every single newbie is thinking the same think, so nobody's dared to socialise much. Logically, there should be loads of us." Carnelian reasoned, with a slight shrug. The amount of people didn't really matter to him that much. "Hey, at least if there's not many people you can maybe have a room to yourself." he added, with a small smile.
Looking up, he blinked. He hadn't paid any attention to it, but it was true that they lived during the night now. "It really is. I'vw always preferred it to the sun. Everything looks so much softer and more beautiful in moonlight." He replied, still looking upwards. Dragging his attention back down to earth, he asked "So have you had any lessons yet?"

Claudia ran into the common room with one of her favorite's of the billion's of books she owns. She spotted to other people who she noticed must be third formers and pretty new cause she never saw them around and she sees everyone at least once.
She decided to go talk to them because she knew exactly how they must be feeling. She walked to the table and sat across from the new girl."Hello I am Claudia but you can call me Claude. I am a fifth former and a Dark Daughter," she said this as sweet as she possibly could. Her eyes were a greenish blue because she was happy but sad. She missed her Aunt and her dead parents but happy to be so close to Changing and her affinity manifested it self today.
Right when she said that a fluffy white kitty ran up and jumped onto Claude's lap. Claude began to absent mindlessly petting the cat who she named Fluffy. "Good morning Fluffy," she said to the pretty kitty who had chosen her on her first day at the House of Night.

Ash walked into the common room, grinning like an idiot. This wasn't unusual for him, as he tended to be constantly happy about something, be it an incredibly cheesy joke or some sexy person hitting on him.
Ash looked around before taking a seat. There were some pretty fine looking people at the house of night. He particularly liked the ginger kid, he'd noticed as he walked in.
"Hey guys, what's up?" He said taking an extra long look at the ginger. "The name's Ash by the way." He added, looking at the two girls. They were pretty hot too.

Claudia heard the door open and noticed a really cute fifth former she saw a couple times around school. "Hey Ash, the names Claudia, but you can call me Claude," she smiled the brightest and hottest smile she could manage. "Has anyone told you that your kinda cute," Claude was a very shy person and she blushed real red when she said this while looking down at her hands.

Briefly wondering if the cat had blue eyes (because if so it'd be a cute-looking but deaf kitty) Carnelian took a deep breath and prepared himself to answer the girl. Opening his mouth to respond however, he was cut off by an older-looking guy who came over, stared at him then addressed them all.
Carnelian didn't like being stared at. He actually hated it.
'Maybe I'll just go with the flow. After all, if it gets back I can always run away.' he thought, opening his mouth once more to talk to the guy. Of course, that's when Claudia, Claude, whatever, spoke again.
'Oh no, they're flirting. Not flirting. Please, no flirting. It's awkward and embarrassing and it makes me uncomfortable. And she's BLUSHING dear me oh this is a very bad situation to be in...' Carnelian's thoughts were rambling as he stared quite fixedly at the floor, plotting an escape route.
"Before you think to ask, Ash, I'm Carnelian and that's AJ." He said, schooling his face until it was basically expressionless and disiterested. He threw a quick glance at AJ to apologise for introducing her. Some people hated it when others did that.

Aj nodded at the boy and girl who had recently joined them. The Ash boy was kinda cute, but not really her type. She noticed he had been staring her Carnelian, and Carnelian was now looking uncomfortable. She didn't blame him. People who stare are generally rude, in her opinion.
She noticed that Claudia was flirting with the Ash boy. She mentally rolled her eyes. Her and carnelian were just having a good conversation, and these two come over and make it awkward. But, she wanted friends, and she now had her chance.
So, do any of you play instruments? she asked. Hopefully, one would, and she would be able to talk about her favorite hobby with them.

Ash flashed a brief grin at Claudia, before AJ asked a question and he was forced to turn his attention back to the other people.
"Ugh, I play piano and guitar, I guess." Ash admitted, with a slight frown. His parents had forced him to learn in instrument, even though he really hadn't wanted to.
"And Claude, I've heard it said, but I always thought I was just being vain" he added, with a flirty grin towards the girl.
